MAKING ROYAL ASCOT A TREAT!

July 5th, 2010

Dear Gary,

I cant thank you enough for making my day out with the girls to Ascot an extra special one. Back in November I was diagnosed with a terminal illness which was completely unexpected and very shocking, and saw the start of my wish list.

Every year, my girls and yours truly have gone to Ascot ladies day; it’s the only time we get to be ladies! For us it has always been a special day, we are very close and this was our time. When my diagnosis began to sink in, we wanted to fulfil the saying that one year we would go in style by Limo, and it is thanks to you that this was able to happen.

Myself, and the girls, the newest edition being nick, had the most amazing day. To turn up at Ascot and be in the only Red Dodge Charger was just simply out of this world, and this would not have been possible without the generosity of not only a professional businessman, but the generosity of a complete stranger whose kind act of generosity simply touched me, (that’s you Gary in case your wondering….)

Everything about our day was truly special, from the sun (im sure you ordered that too), the company of the girls and Nick, and the amazing Limo with a very brave Steve at the wheel! And how superb was he?! We couldn’t have asked of a more perfect day and Steve was a perfect gentleman, nothing was too much trouble for him, he looked after us and a firm telling off when we tried to tidy up our mess too! The man deserves a medal for looking after and putting up with us like he did. I found the whole day an emotional rollercoaster and hope that this will not have been my last time at Ascot, and bless Steve for hugging me when it all got abit too much.

The finishing touch was how he got out daughter Abigail involved both before we left and after we came back, she was the first in the Limo to see the inside, and a trip to the end of the road simply made her day and meant so much to myself and Nick.

So thank you Gary you truly made my wish come true, and we couldn’t have done it in better style. The Red Dodge Charger was just perfect; it’s a beautiful car and one hell of a sexy beast! This time it has 8 sexy people inside it, who felt like stars. Your company is a peoples one, you simply care about your clients and look after them from start to finish. Steve was even polishing the windows outside my house before we left as there was smear on them apparently! We couldn’t see it, but it’s the little touches that mean everything;  the way the bar was polished and ready for the refill on the way home, the table and chairs were set up and the food was ready for our return, we know that we would never have got this level of personal professionalism from just another limo company, yours is stuff dreams are made off, and you made mine into reality. You also gave us some extra special memories for myself, Nick and the girls to look back on, because we will never forget anything about our perfect day.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my dream day come into reality.

With love, Jane xx

Councils looking at limousines more objectively?

June 9th, 2010

Just recently, we have started giving formal presentations to council licensing officers about stretch limos – what they are, how they are built, VOSA’s requirements etc.

One such presentation was given to Spelthorne Council and invited licensing officers from other councils (12 in all) on 13th April.  The presentation was followed by a very open Q and A forum and “both sides” were very open and frank – from the good, the bad and of course, the ugly.

Today, we received the following email from the senior licensing officer of Runneymede Borough Council, who until now, have not licensed limousines:

 BEGIN QUOTE

Just a short note to let you know that Members of the Regulatory Committee agreed, last night, to relax the restriction & requirement of 3 point lap & diagonal passenger seat belts for side or rear facing seats.

he item put before the Committee was aimed at removing the one condition that inhibited the licensing of ‘stretched limos’ in Runnymede.

There seems to be no good reason why any operator based within the Borough cannot now become licensed with us and operate within the law.

Please feel free to contact us should you wish any further information.

END QUOTE

This is good news and goes to show what can be achieved if a sensitive and accurate approach is adopted and put before the authorities, who of course, have the deciding vote.

We also heard today that both Bolton and Walsall Councils have agreed to license limousines of up to eight passengers.

Himself and his bride to be will exchange their vows on Dallas Road at the beach, one man read that Steve wanted to marry his fiancée Lisa Greenwood, who is 47, at Fonyo Beach however couldn’t afford it, John Vickers had arranged for two plane tickets, a stretched limousine service and a photographer to give the coupled the big wedding that they had only dreamed of. Steve who is 45, is also a cancer survivor who had raised over $13 million for cancer research throughout his lifetime and across the Canada marathon.

Vickers, who is best known for his Pumpkin art display throughout the Halloween holiday in the capital region, said that local business like the Harbour hotel, Ascot Limousine Services wanted to share the sentiment and were more than willing to contribute. From this Vickers had also arranged for a Rev. Carrelyn Sheldan to perform at the ceremony. Fonyo had quoted that he was overwhelmed by the news and grateful for all the generosity, he also said, ‘when I first got the phone call, I was in a state of shock. I didn’t know what to say or think, from the things that have been happening with the Order of Canada, its nice to see that something really good has come from all this’.

June 7th, 2010

TEENS PROM NIGHT SAVED

June 7th, 2010

A bunch of seven teenagers dream prom night is back on after a limousine company had gone bust. The year 11 students from Greendown high school had thought that their night was going to be ruined when the limousine company they had booked with fell through. However one limousine firm was able to come to their rescue. Alison Millin aged 48 whose daughter Faye (16) is one of the relieved parents quoted ‘I think its very good of them to come forward, the kids would now actually have a nice start to the evening, they are over the moon and really excited’

The groups of teens who were involved were Gemma Warren, Amy Sharpe, Iona Garnett, Bethany Beynon, Hannah Spencer, Matt Goode and Faye Millin, they all have spent months planning out their perfect end to their high school lives and booked well in advance with the travel. However, soon after they had found out for themselves that the owner of Must Afa Limo had sold his limousine due to the poor trading conditions recently. He kindly pasted on their deposit to another firm however they could not provide limousines, just luxury saloon type vehicles, because of this, the deposit was returned.

Mrs Millin said ‘they were all upset, we were left with having to arrange the whole night again when the girls needed to be concentrating on their upcoming exams. They are sensible and realized that there are more important things in the world, however wanted a big night leaving school and saying goodbye to all their friends’. However after frantically ringing every limousine firm they could, the group had some lucky to come across one who could fit them in. With this, the limousine firm said that they could not do the whole job, but offered them a trip free of charge to the prom venue. All the teens had an exciting night and said goodbye in the right way.
